Honda's program to reduce their environmental footprint dictates the way they approach every aspect of how the company operates. Their mission is to ensure "Blue Skies for Our Children," protecting the Earth for generations to come.
Honda has pledged to voluntarily lower their CO2 emissions by 50 percent before 2050 as (compared to a baseline that was established in 2000) as part of the company's goal to reduce its impact on the environment at every level – from manufacturing and design to transportation and sales.
Honda is proud to offer its most fuel-efficient lineup ever, and continues to seek out methods to improve fuel economy:
- Honda is creating fuel-cell electric vehicles that deliver long-range, zero-emission, all-electric driving. The vehicles generate electricity when needed rather than drawing power from batteries, and because they're hydrogen fueled refueling only takes a few minutes.
- Hoda hybrid vehicles count on two sources of power to offer stellar fuel economy and lower emissions than vehicles that rely on traditional gasoline powertrains.
- Battery electric vehicles, like the Fit EV, don't use gas and provide power to the wheels through rechargeable lithium batteries and electric motors.
Honda engineers continue to devise sustainable solutions for a world that is rapidly becoming smarter and more mobile. The company is also developing programs for their dealerships, helping them slash energy use and work towards a goal of operating with 100 percent renewable energy.
