Given the recent green news regarding the Honda Smart Home, we don't think it's a stretch to say that our favorite automaker's been aiming pretty high as of late. If it were anyone other than Honda, there might be cause for concern, but if our award-winning new and used cars here at Bend Honda are any indication, there's certainly no cause for concern. Because when Honda aims of the sky, it's the sky they're going to reach.
Case in point: the HondaJet.
Like the name implies, the goal of the HondaJet program was to create a customer aircraft that would also serve as the world's most advanced light jet on the market. What they ended up creating was exactly that: the fastest, most fuel-efficient and high-flying light business jet aircraft around. Now in its final phases of flight testing, it won't be long before the HondaJet makes its way to the masses, and as you can probably imagine, we're just chomping at the bit for it to get here.
"Our team is working very hard to bring the HondaJet to market as quickly as possible," says Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company. "Customer and market expectations are high, and I am dedicated to certifying and delivering an aircraft that will bring our customers lasting joy."1
Unfortunately, we'd be awfully surprised to see this space-age Spruce Goose make its way to our dealership here in Bend, OR. But on the off chance that it does, feel free to tide yourself over with a test drive in the four-wheeled wonder that is the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid. Like we said, it pays to aim high.
