The United States market has been without a Civic hatchback for more than a decade now. Since 2005, the model has been evolving into a thing of beauty in the European markets. However, it looks like our time is just around the corner. Recently, Honda announced that a new Civic Hatchback prototype will make its North American Debut at the end of the month in New York.
The details are limited, the hatchback's exterior elements were on full display at the Geneva Auto Show earlier this month. Long valleys slice down the doors, giving the low-slung model an even sleeker appearance. The front-end's LED headlights, jutting accents and large intakes give the prototype an aggressive aesthetic that means business.
We don't have much information about what's under the hood, but the most recent press release did mention Honda Turbo engine technology, so you can be sure it's more than just a pretty face. For further details, we'll have to wait until March 22 at 2:20 p.m. EST when Honda will post an update to its YouTube channel. It's been 11 years, what's a couple more week?
