If you asked automotive and racing enthusiasts what they thought of the Honda Civic Type R not being offered in the American market, you would most likely be promptly drowned in a fountain of tears. We want this car, and bad, and the recent news that it met its goal of smashing the Nurburgring lap record doesn't help.
At the start of the Geneva Motor Show, Honda finally saw fit to unveil the new Civic Type R, along with a sought after bit of street cred: a video showing the lap record being broken. With a time of 7 minutes and 50 seconds, it makes the Civic Type R the first of its ilk (a front wheel drive hot hatch) to beast the record.
