The last time we had some racing news for you fine folks here at Bend Honda, our favorite automaker was heading to Colorado to test their mettle at the 2013 Pike's Peak International Hill Climb. It was an event for the ages alright, although considering our line of work, it's been far too long since we've shifted our focus to the racetrack.
But now that Honda has staked their claim at this year's British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), we couldn't be prouder of the news we have to share.
Established in 1958, the BTCC is an annual event that brings in professional racers and automakers from across the globe in their quest for victory on the asphalt. This year, the one and only Andrew Jordan was representing us from behind the wheel of a turbocharged Honda Civic. When it came down the final round at the Brands Hatch circuit last weekend, Jordan ultimately placed ninth in the race. However, given how well he'd fared in races prior, it was still enough to ultimately nab him a seven-point victory to take home the gold in the final standings.
Not only that, but Honda also drove off with a big win at the constructors' championship while the Honda Yuasa Racing team earned the teams' title. Needless to say, there's an awful lot to be proud of at the dealership these days.
So if all this talk of rubber-burning glory has you itching to get behind the wheel, your test drive awaits at our dealership here in Bend, OR. All these wins must count for something.
