If the recent Blue Light Special on the 2013 Honda Fit EV was any indication, our favorite automaker has been going above and beyond to make our fuel-efficient new and used cars more attainable than ever before. And why shouldn't they be? After all, with fossil fuels slowly but surely going the way of the dinosaur, hybrids and EVs are the inevitable way of the future here at Bend Honda.

And just in case Honda's commitment to their eco-friendly lineup was ever up for debate, the gang over at TrueCar are here to set the record straight.

For those unfamiliar, TrueCar is an automotive pricing and analysis company that's recently been surveying the market to see how the fuel economy of the nation's fleet has been faring. For the past four months now, the fuel economy of new vehicles in the US has been steadily improving, so much so that they were getting an extra 0.7 miles per gallon this past June than they were in May. Not only that, but the national average is now at 23.7 mpg.

Needless to say, the masses are on board.

"Despite the relative drop in gas prices, consumer's preference for fuel efficient vehicles only grew stronger in June," says Jesse Toprak, senior analyst for TrueCar. "Even though we observed unseasonably strong increase in truck sales in the recent months, the higher efficiency of the new models resulted in another month of improvement in overall TrueMPG for the industry."1

And to top it all off, Honda was name-dropped as one of the top three brands with the most fuel-efficient lineup in the US, thanks largely in part to the fuel-efficiency of our four-cylinder engines.

So if you'd like to learn more about what these beauties of ours are cooking with or if you'd like to get behind the wheel of the 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to set you up at our dealership here in Bend, OR. After all, the people of America just can't be wrong.
