For everything that we love about the bright lights of Portland, boy, is it a chore to drive around. Whether it's finding spot we can actually park in or just navigating our way through weekend traffic, all of us here at Bend Honda are in solidarity on this one: big-city driving is no picnic whatsoever. Luckily, we've got our new and used cars to make the experience that much easier for us.
Take the 2013 Honda Fit for example. Already one of the safest beauties, most reliable beauties on our lot, and with the advent of Honda's City-Brake Active System, it's about to get a whole lot more so.
Soon to be bundled in what Honda is calling a comprehensive "Safety Package," the City-Brake Active System uses laser radars mounted on the Honda Fit's windshield to provide drivers with visual and audible warnings when a collision may be imminent. The system will primarily work when the Honda Fit is being driven under 19 mph and is reported to detect objects in the road that are up to 14 feet away.
For the time being, Japan is set to get the City-Brake Active System at the end of this year, and while it's only a matter of time before it makes its way to North America, we unfortunately don't know when that time will be.
Until then, at least you still have the industry-leading safety standards of our fabulous Honda models to rely on here at 2225 NE Hwy 20 in Bend, OR 97701. Trust us: you don't want to go to the city without them.
